HOLLAND 2014
We have received the following report from Paul A'Lee with the group on tour in Holland:
Both hotels have been top draw. Center Parcs and Amsterdam tomorrow. Lille game alright but stadium fantastic. PSV Eindhoven b Feyenoord excellent match. All well behaved even Chantelle and Richard. Weather sunny. First beer for 4 months was like liquid gold. Jack Webber's rice krispie cakes are extremely popular especially with Will Bateman. HRH has been well received on her first official visit to Holland and France. Gary Stephenson has still not found the missing settee.
Surprise tour of Utrecht Stadium absolutely first class. Because HRH was their now have by Royal Appointment above the main entrance. Center Parcs apartments once again top notch. Roads good with no pot holes. AZ Alkmaar tour ok and the visit to the Zuider Zee was enjoy by all. Visit to local supermarket was fun. The site of my team shopping with basket would probably stun their parents. Gary Stephenson has got a job selling pitchers.
Left the Center Parcs with HRH giving us a royal wave from her balcony. The boys enjoyed the gorgeous weather as they went on the rides at De Efteling theme park. Some adults stayed back and crossed the lake to join us at Spackenburg for the football. The younger team came back from 3-0 down to draw. Harrison James scored all three. Our older team won 8-2 with Jack Webber scoring 4, Josh Heale 2, James Baker and Will Bateman 1 each. Spackenburg was a very friendly club. Evening meal once again was the excellent carvery. Off to Ajax and Amsterdam tomorrow plus a match at Rotterdam. Boys all well and well behaved.
Up ready to go to Ajax. Jack Webber, James Baker on the bacon rolls. Will Bateman, Josh Heale on the cereal. While Pacey Joe Mulholland and Colin Plug-Cave on the croissants. Chef Russell Kingdom thinks he is doing a good job.
Ajax stadium tour enjoyed by all. First team training on pitch. Amsterdam visit busy. Took players on the canals. Older team then played Alblasserdam and won 7-2. Goals from Josh Heale 4, James Baker 2 and William Bateman. All the players were well received in Rotterdam with their Ajax shirts and this club was really friendly. The younger team lost 4-2 with Harrison James scoring 2 while our opponents did say their players were older. We survived on a KFC followed later by McDonald’s. Today we are staying at the Center Parcs.
What a day. So hot and sunny, Tournament for the older ones where they won all their games at Lelystad while the younger team lost one and won two. Back to Center Parcs where we crossed by boat to Spackenburg to join 4000 others watching the top of the table clash. Back by boat to Center Parcs and then a beer with the kids in the arcade. Love my team to bits so well behaved and nice to this old man.
Sun out 24 degrees in the De Emmhof marina supping a Bavaria beer. Just return from Deventer tournament. Older ones 5 wins and winners trophy. Little ones won three lost two drew one but tried hard. All the boys are well. All swimming at Center Parcs now. Off to the carvery for evening meal. Taylor Stansfield wins x factor on bus. Chantelle run out of toilet paper.
The boys played in two tournaments one on 20th April at Lelystad which was for the Under 8's and Under 11's, one at Deventer for the Under 11's. Goalscorers in the Under 11's games were William Bateman (7), Colin Plug-Cave (4), Jack Webber (4), James Baker (3), Josh Heale (2), Harry Varnalls-Stephenson (1). Goalscorers in the Under 8's were Harrison James and William Baker with one each. The Under 11's won the Deventer Tournament.
