Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U9's 2009/10

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

DATE TYPE FIXTURE GOAL SCORERS
26.09.2009 EDYL Stoke Hill v Twyford Barca

Following the events of the opening day of their Exeter & District campaign, Twyford Barca decided to have a change of formation and keeper. This saw Keane Moore make his debut between the sticks and also Robert Wakeham and Matthew Reed don a Twyford shirt for the first time.

This week's league fixture saw us travel to Exeter based Stoke Hill who last season were one of our toughest opposition and true to form the home team muscling through the Twyford midfield creating some good passages of play. A vocal Keane Moore organised his defenders in front of goal but could not stop an early shot just a couple minutes into the first half.

Midfielder; Aaron Long did his best to create some inspired runs but Stoke Hill were able to contain his advances and clear the ball up to their front-men who did their best to stretch the Twyford defence and sneak more goals. Our only real chance came from Konnor Tebby; whose shot was on target, but didnÂ’t completely cross the line.

With the home team up by four at half time, Twyford found it an uphill struggle as Stoke Hill continue to capitalise on their opportunities in the second half. The game ended 12-0 but praise goes to Keane Moore who bravely saved many more attempts on the Twyford goal.
