Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U9's 2009/10

Twyford Barca dominated much of the early play passing extremely well and carving up the Pinhoe defence. Toby Heard, Konnor Tebby and Liam Gillbard all came close to opening their accounts with several attempts on goal. We continued to keep the opposition under pressure for the majority of the first fifteen minutes through a tremendous effort from Toby Heard which ended goalless.

After the break, Pinhoe gathered some momentum and we were pinned back in our own half. Aaron Long and Toby Place were calling into defensive duty and were excellent clearing the ball away cleanly and decisively to prevent any chance of shooting from Pinhoe.

With just ten seconds from the final whistle, Pinhoe struck gold with a goal into the bottom corner in a close fixture between two very even sides. Both teams played extremely well and in fantastic spirit. The Twyford Barca team displayed their best performance of the season and certainly could have produced several goals. Our effort even surpassed our performance two weeks ago against Honiton Sharks.
