Match Report - Twyford Milan - B U12's 2009/10

On a sloping pitch at 6pm on a wednesday night Twyford produced arguably their best team performance of the season only conceding a couple of late goals to make the score 5-1 to thier hosts and give the scoreline a flattering look.

Captain and birthday boy Scott Hellier chose to kick uphill first half an the team awaited the onslaught.However the defence of Adam Pike,Kieran Tebby and the outstanding Brad Burnett and David Rawlings stood firm for most of the half.Harry Toogood again looked more commanding in goal and by half time only conceded 2 goals.

Ryan Roberts and Nathan Broom out on the flanks played some good football and Caius Hill was back into the team and provided much needed steel to the midfield.Twyford came out in the second half with a renewed optimism against thier rivals.they took advantage of the slope and pressed hard for a goal with James Tourle and Dan Tidborough making the wellington defence look over shoulders .The goal came from Shelby Butler after a great run and cool finish under the advancing keeper and the match was in the balance at 2-1.

As Twyford pressed for a morale boosting equaliser it inevitably left some gaps at the back and as a couple of players sufferered knocks wellinton picked themselves up to score a couple of late goals and the match was lost.
