Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U9's 2009/10

The opening fixture of the season was a spectacular display of attacking football. Pinhoe Spartans were devastating as they systematically ploughed through the Twyford midfield and exposed huge holes in our defence. The goals flew into the back of the Twyford net without little resilience from Toby Place or Jakub Kulczyki both backing off and letting the strikers run at them. Half time offered a welcomed rest from the constant onslaught of Pinhoe advances which finished 8-0 at the break.

Despite a better performance from the Twyford side and a shot for Keane Moore, Pinhoe Spartans continued to turn on the style. Aaron Long and Louis Bolduc made some strong challenges in the middle of the park but the extra Pinhoe player with the advantage of 7 versus 6 made all the difference.

Twyford goalkeeper; Konnor Tebby was kept extremely busy making numerous saves although punished when a couple of short throws were met by an opposing striker. The game ended 14-0 and this was a cruel lesson which our players must learn from quickly.
