Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U10's 2010/11

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

Twyford looked threatening in the opening minutes, passing well and creating chances through Eden Reynell storming down the left wing. We looked likely to score on a few occasions but our attempts were wide of the goal. The match brought out another excellent performance from Zack Veen, Eden Reynell and Aaron Long whose attitude, determination and effort was faultless.

Barca Keeper; Konnor Tebby entertained the crowd with a series of sensational leaps, decisive clearances and gutsy antics. One such save looked like a slow motion replay producing a “wave to the camera” style dive to his right hand side tipping the ball wide of the post… a save worthy of a cup final!

Sidmouth eventually went up a gear and found their form leading to a very open game of football which had everything; shots from distance, finger tip saves, goal mouth scrambles, appeals for handball and a barrage of goals.

Our players in no way deserve to be on the end of a 10 – 0 defeat following this performance, football can be a cruel game and despite the score, we played extremely well.
