Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U10's 2010/11

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

Despite our attempts to contain the advances of Okehampton Barca, we were unable to prevent our opponents from getting the better run of play. Toby Heard, Eden Reynell and Jack Walton did their best to create chances, but couldn’t find a way through the Okehampton defences. With our team being contained to our own box, the visitors managed to find the back of the net due to failed panicky clearances.

Konnor Tebby was called into action, clearing the ball from his area with the help of Aaron Long and Zack Veen marshalling the Twyford goal, but the persistence of our opponents paid off and they were able to sneak two further goals in quick succession.  At the break, we went in 3-0 down.

The second half was a little closer; all our players gave 110% but were unable to stop Okehampton from finding the back of the net again. The final score line of 5-0 does certainly does not reflect the effort displayed by our players. It is still very early in the season and with more match experience the tiny mistakes that we were punished for today will reduce as we learn to play as a team. For our inexperienced players, this was in no way a bad performance. Keep going boys and the results will come.
