Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U10's 2010/11

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

A hard fought first half saw us contain our opponents preventing them time on the football. Some excellent tracking back from Eden Reynell and Matt Reed ensured that the title contenders were tamed. Sam and Zack’s partnership at the back proved solid as attack after attack was denied by our team.

Konnor Tebby had to punch clear several whipped crosses into his box and could be heard yelling instructions to his teammates to “Get Back”. West Exe Exiles were persistent and found their stride after a scrappy goal bundled across the line.

Kieran Ashley was called into action after a run from Toby Heard down the left wing was ended abruptly by a crunching tackle which saw him leave the field. We battled on but our opponents were well organised and kept possession taking a 4-0 lead into half time.

We gave a better performance in the second half, Matt Reed was instrumental upfront with Patrick Smith determined to get on the score sheet. Our players kept going and were rewarded with a consolation goal by our man in form; Patrick Smith. The match ended 7-1 but this by no means the white wash that could have been expected when a top 3 team meets a bottom 3 team. I am very proud of all our players today, another great team effort and more encouraging improvement.
