Having faced Cullompton Rangers in previous seasons, we knew that they were an attacking side who have an eye for goal. Today’s encounter was no different as they found the back of the net in just 2 minutes.  Our heads dropped as the next two attempts from Cullompton also resulted in two further goals.

Although our opponents did rip our shape apart and draw us into the play exposing big holes in our midfield, we had some inspiring passages of play. Patrick Smith made a number of blistering runs down the left and skilfully set up a few chances for Eden Reynell and Jack Walton as well as coming close twice himself. There was also a moment for midfielder; Jakub Kulczyki who swung out a waist-high boot which resulted in a shot that went into the arms of the Cullompton Keeper.

Defender Aaron Long and Keeper Konnor Tebby were both integral in our performance and although a couple of the late goals could be classed as goalkeeping errors, overall both contributed to keeping the final score in single figures.

This was never going to be a close contest, but I would like to highlight another very strong performance from Sam Walker and Patrick Smith, with a good performance from Jakub Kulczyki, Zack Veen and Jack Walton.
