Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U10's 2010/11

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

DATE TYPE FIXTURE GOAL SCORERS
19.03.2011 EDYL Feniton v Twyford Barca Jack Walton (1)

We were treated to glorious Spring sunshine in our opening match. We looked fairly evenly matched in the opening minutes passing well and containing any pressure from the home side. Growing with every game our left back; Sam Walker confidently slid in and defended extremely well. The league newcomers Feniton eventually found their stride scoring after 7 minutes.

Eden Reynell and Jack Walton looked threatening posing constant problems both down the wing and in front of goal. But it was Twyford Keeper; Konnor Tebby who was the busiest tipping the ball around the post, leaping across the face of the goal and taking command of his penalty box.

After another Feniton goal, it was striker Jack Walton whose left footed strike blasted into the roof of the net for his third goal of the season.

The second half was dominated by a confident display of skill, agility and physical strength. The highlight was a solo effort from a Feniton midfielder skinning two of our players before dancing through our defenders and firing a thunderous shot into the top corner. Aaron Long and Zack Veen both made a number of important tackles to keep things respectable. In the dying moments, the audience were treated to a back heeled Feniton goal just before the final whistle.

A slight lack of concentration and some minor defensive mistakes attributed to the score line, but we played well. Kieran Ashley, Patrick Smith and Matt Reed are getting stronger with every performance and I am encouraged by our teamwork.
