Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U14's 2010/11

Twyford girls started the game well closing down the Ashmoor girls and having chances of their own to score with Amy Sanders making it difficult at times for the Ashmoor defenders.  About 10 minutes into the game the Ashmoor striker's speed onto a through ball was too much for the Twyford defenders and she scored a well taken goal.  This goal had a negative effect on the girls who then began to lose their shape which made it easier for the Ashmoor girls to pass the ball around. The girls went in at half time on the wrong end of a 9-0 loss.   The girls came out in the second half and played well together and again made it difficult for the Ashmoor girls to pass the ball which kept the goals conceded in this half to two.

Millie McLear worked well talking to the girls to encourage them during this difficult game.  Twyford have had a diffiucult start to the season playing some of the best teams in the league but despite this there are signs of improvement and they will build on this as there is good commitment from all the girls and through hard work during this transition from mini soccer to 11 a side they will reap the benefits as the season progresses.
