Twyford Monaco were on the wrong end of a 13-4 drubbing against a Tiverton side whose quality of finishing was excellent. The first half however was a very even affair with Monaco going two goals up from a Dan Verrier strike and a Danny Crook tap in. Tiverton burst back within the space of 10 minutes to take a 3-2 lead but Bradley Kelly equalised to make it three each at the break.
Monaco started the second half slowly and were punished as Tiverton piled on the pressure and the game was over as a contest 5 minutes after the re-start as the home side created and took chance after chance. There was little Monaco could do as the legs tired. It wasn’t until the latter stages of the game that they fought for pride and Alex Wright got his reward for his efforts by scoring Monaco’s fourth with a header from a Verrier corner right on the final whistle.
