Twyford Monaco lost 4-2 away to Culm in a game that could have gone either way. For most of the match there was little between the sides and it was the clinical finishing of the home side late in the game that put a result out of reach.

Monaco started brightly and went ahead early on when Nick Merriam won a race to Tom Haines long kick upfield and lobbed the Culm keeper. Monaco lost Tom Roberts with an injury which effected the balance of the team but they kept trying to play on the front foot with Merriam always a threat when allowed to turn and run at the home side's defence. Dan Verrier played well on his first game back after injury and Alex Wright and Jack Zilch were once again solid at the back. Alex Goldsbrough at full back found few opportunities to get forward but was unlucky with an effort after good work with Anthony Ansell and Merriam.

Tom Parkins had his work cut out against a five man midfiled but stuck to his task well.

It was Culm who went in at half time with a 2-1 lead after Ross Oaten had equalised and with the last kick of the half they converted a penalty after the ball was handled in the area.

The second half saw Culm with more of the ball and Monaco tiring but the equaliser came courtesy of a typical Bradley Kelly finish. He had huffed and puffed all game against a physical home defence but remained sharp when his chance came. Verrier held the ball up strongly and fed Merriam who found Harry Denson in space on the right wing. His first time cross between the defenders and keeper had Kelly's name on it.

Straight away it sparked Culm into life. First Dan Hayfield found space on the edge of the box to put Culm back in the lead and then in the final moments Oaten spotted Haines off his line and scored from near the half way line.
