This was probably Monaco's best performance of the season. Not for the quality of their play but more for the proffessional way they went about getting the result which means so much in terms of valuable points going into the later stages of a hard year in the top divison.

After the opening exchanges it was clear that the home side knew they were going to have to produce something extra to win this one but found instead that the Monaco defence were not in the mood to give anything. Alex Goldsbrough shaded man of the match due to the fact that he was half the size of the players he was marking but fough like a lion and never wasted the ball. Jack Zilch and Alex Wright were too quick for the home strikers and Richard Sandiford was positonally excellent. Tom Haines never split anything in the goal and was only beaten once when a good shot from a Sidbury striker cameoff the post.

Monaco took the lead midway through the first half after a good interchange between Dan Verrier and Nick Merriam found Noah Wright who turned the ball home.

The secon half saw Monaco holding firm again and finding better spells of football themselves. Bradley Kelly was having a good game on the left and was full of confidence playing against some boys nearly two years older than himself. Anthony Ansell and Tom Parkins also worked their sock off for the cause but were unlucky when a hopefull ball over the top found a home striker who lobbed Haines for the equaliser.

Monaco never gave up though and it was 10 minutes from time when Noah Wright showed his blistering pace. He gave his fullback a 5 yard headstart, knocked the ball into the space behind and ran on to slide the ball in for the winner.
