Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U10's 2010/11

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

The wounds and scars from our first match certainly appeared to take the wind out of our sails against Stoke Hill. The current league leaders took delight in flexing their muscles, parading their superiority and finding scoring goals to be humorous.

Midway through the first half defender; Zack Veen had to leave the pitch after the knee injury he sustained earlier became too painful to continue. Jakub Kulczyki took up midfield duty whilst Brandon Davies joined Konnor Tebby at the back of the Twyford defence.

Unfortunately the attitude of our opponents spoiled the occasion for our players and our enthusiasm dwindled as the half progressed.

We shrugged off the negativity in the second half and started to take the game to the other team, with a couple of spells of play from Patrick Smith, Jack Walton and Eden Reynell. Late into the second half play was stopped after there were concerns for Konnor Tebby who was brought down and had his back fallen upon.

This was a game which our players need to forget quickly, ignore the poor attitude of the other team and chalk up to experience. We are only half way through our season so there are plenty more games to concentrate on.
