Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U10's 2010/11

Type: EDYL = Exeter & District Youth League

DATE TYPE FIXTURE GOAL SCORERS
12.02.2011 EDYL Central City v Twyford Barca

Central City were well organised from the off, unleashing wave after wave of precision passing and thunderous shots. Despite this relentless pressure on our players, we defended extremely well and fought off their advances.

Left back Zack Veen put in another solid performance aided admirably by Aaron Long whose long place kicks hurtled over our opponent’s midfield. Twyford chances were scarce but a tremendous run from Eden Reynell down the right flank came closest as he blasted a shot wide. Another chance came from a run by Brandon Davies and Patrick Smith linking up down the left.

Central proved too strong and began moving the ball around, playing it out wide before cutting in and crossing into the box. Their efforts were fruitful taking a 4-0 lead into half time.

In the second half, we battled our way back into the match with more possession and neat one-two combination play between Jack Walton and Eden Reynell. Some more long place kicks from Aaron Long helped keep the ball deep in the opposition half which Patrick Smith was able to pick up and turn before charging down the Central defence.

This fixture was a strong physical battle, which left us with a few bumps and bruises, but man of the match must go to Konnor Tebby without whose performance in goal would have seen a cricket score. His quick reaction saves and decisive clearances were equally as important to keep the score line respectable against league contenders Central City.
