Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U12's 2010/11

Todays second 9 a side friendly saw us host the visit of plainmoor, this was a good game from the off both teams having plenty of the ball but as is quite often the case after a strong start we conceded but this did not faze the girls which it so easily could of they battled hard Emily,Caitlen and Hannah passsing the ball well and creating some chances and Jordan using her pace to get behind the pinks defence but sadley we could not get the final ball in the net ,meanwhile at the other end Ezzie, kim and nicole kept things tight with Eve in goal doing a good job midway through the half we brought on Chloe who slotted well into the defence and at tthe half the score remained 1-0 to the pinks.

                                                   During the break we made some changes putting Hannah at the back and Ezzie in the midfield again a very even start to the half with our midfield dynamo Phoebe putting in some great work as the half went on plainmoor nicked a goal but were having to work hard to even get the ball as our team grew in confidence we swapped things around a bit taking off Caitlen and moving Chloe upfront and Nicole into defence and the team knocked the ball around well and after some great work from player of the day Emily, Jordon hit the net with a strong strike and the game was set at 2-1 we then put on Shannon for Ezzie and went for the draw and the girls played some great football but sadly as is somtimes the case when you chase a game plainmoor hit us on the break and scored with almost the last kick of the game .Today saw our team go up another level with all the players doing very well a mention should go to Amellia who despite having arm in bandage and being in a lot of pain turned up to play and also to Caitlen who left the team today to move away we wish her good luck and hope she continues to play and is welcome back any time.
