Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U13's 2011/12

Today we had an away trip to Liverton this is normally a very close game and this week was no exception the game started with both teams having plenty of the ball Liverton spent long periods in our half passing the ball well but our defence was well organised and stood firm as the half went on we also were able to create some chances all in all a good start to the half the second part of the half saw Liverton push on and threaten our goal a little more the defence worked very and Emily in goal made saves where needed a very close  half saw the score at 0-0 at the break .

                                       The second half started very well for us moving the ball much quicker and using the full pitch and spending more time attacking but as is so often the case the ball broke to a liverton player who made a strong run and finished well across the keeper for 1-0 , we responded well to going behind and had our best period of the game Lydia ,jordan and Emily linked well Phoebe and lauren worked very hard in the midfield and we created several half chances but the ball would not fall for us and again as we were attacking we lost the ball and Liverton broke and shot on goal the strike was well saved by Kim but sadly the ball spilled and the Liverton striker scrambled the ball over the line for 2-0. This was heartbreaking for the team but again we still pushed forward and Emily broke into the box and scored for a final result of 2-1 ,this was a great time game with the whole team working very hard Hannah,chloe and kim did very well in the defence with Ellie causing problems upfront but the best performance today came from Nicole who worked very hard upfront in one half and at the back in the other well done to you all a great day .
