Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U13's 2011/12

Type: DGFL = Devon Girls Football League

Today saw us face a strong looking Westexe side who are always well organised , we started well moving the ball out wide and stretching our opponants and as the half got going things looked good  for us the back 4 of Emilly in goal Chloe,Kim and Hannah looked strong and well organised we worked the ball well down there right Jordan and Lauren linking well and in one such attack we broke into the box for Lydia to knock the ball in for 1-0 . We pushed on from this working very hard Phoebe and nicole doing well , near the end of the half we broke into there half and following a scamble Lauren stuck out a foot to put the ball in for 2-0 this was the score at the half .

                             The second half saw as we expected Westexe coming out strong attacking on several occassions but our defence stood firm and Emily made saves where needed but after an attack down our right we conceded, this lead to a hard fought battle for the last 20 mins or so or subs of Ellie and Georgia did well Westexe kept coming at us but we stood firm and created a couple of chances on the break  we kept defending  well and after a full length finger tip save from Emily we loked like we might hold on for our first win but sadley with only 11 seconds left a goal mouth scamble saw the ball loop high in the area and drop into the net for 2-2 which was the final score .

                                                                 This was a fantastic game both teams wanting the win but our girls showed great spirit some of them running till they dropped its hard to name individuals but i felt that Jordan was the outstanding player  on the pitch on both teams never stopping challenging and creating chances for others well done to you and to the whole team points  on the board bring on the next game .
