Match Report - Twyford Spartans - B U15's 2011/12

A hard earned draw for Monaco against a really sharp Heavitree side on the face of it was a good result but luck has not been in great supply this season and a first win is surely soon to arrive. The passing has been good and the confidence has always been there so it was a blow when Heavitree took the lead after 20 minutes but the team kept plugging away trying to find oportunities and an well desrved equaliser cam when Noah Wright's pace took him clear to run on to Nick Merriam's through ball to slot home.

In the second half a scramble in our goalmouth was saved by Tom Haines but had just croosed the line so it appeared back to square one but back we came again. Training last week was focused around attacking corners and it paid off when Dan Verriers excellently delivered dead ball was hooked in by Matt Watts. Cory Eaton's rasping shot hit the bar and Monaco limited the home side to a few half chances. The back four were excellent and well marshalled by Jack Zilch, Alex Wright and Watts and Alex Goldsbrough was excellent.

All in all a good hard workout.
