08.10.2011 EDYL Okehampton v Twyford Bayern Eden Reynell (1), Zack Veen (1)

Twyford Bayern played their first ever 9-a-side league match against a very well organised Okehampton Side. Twyford started the first half slowly with Okehampton dominating and playing some excelent passing football which was rewarded with two early goals. Twyford made a tactical switch which saw Sam Davey moved to the back where he and Zach Veen managed to contain the Okehampton attack. Twyford threatened on the counter with the pace and dribbling of Eden Reynell but to no avail. Okehamptons dominance told at half time as they managed to grab 4 more goals through some dissappointing marking and some excellent football. Twyford started brightly in the second half and played some excellent passing football proving that they are capable of knocking the ball around as well as their opponents. This time it was Okehamptons turn to catch us on the break and extended their lead with Twyford short of numbers at the back with the midfield pushing on up in our attempts to grab a goal. Twyford got the goal they deserved as Aaron Long, who had replaced Jack Walton in goal at half time, cleared the ball with his hands where Brandon Davis's excellent touch and through ball was run on too by Eden Reynell who finished very well and got the goal he deserved after taking some tough tackles from some of the Okehampton players. Following the goal Okehampton hit back and following Jack Waltons good performance with the gloves in the first half, Aaron Long also made some good saves as Okehampton continued to attack with Twyford pushing forward. Okehampton resorted to using the long ball over the top of Twyfords defence and increased there lead further. Twyford then grabbed another goal as Edan Reynell again using his pace to get the better of the Okehampton defenders and his right wing cross was converted at the near post by Zack Veen, scoring his first ever goal for Twyford. Twyford had chances to grab some more goals but they lacked the killer instinct. There were a lot of posotives to take from the game against one the of the strongest teams in the legaue but will need to be tighter defensivly and keep there shape. All the players played well and standing out were Zack Veen, Eden Reynell, Aaron Long and Sam Davey who was making his Twyford Debut.
