Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U14's 2012/13

The girl’s spirits were high and we have in the past been evenly matched which has resulted in close games. K.O was 11:35 with the sun shining.

The teams were ready to go and the whistle blew with the ball going from end to end for the first fifteen minutes. Then Lydia broke on the left wing and scores, jumps of joy and elation were to follow 1-0 to Twyford. The party lasted for two minutes and Newton Fire managed to equalise and a minute later 2-1 to Newton Fire but the girls did not allow their heads to drop and after a great save from Courtney our temporary goalie, Chloe West broke on the right side and the scores were equal again. It looked like it was going to be all square at half time but Newton Fire broke and scored almost as the whistle went for half time. 3-2 to Newton fire at half time.

We were still hopeful at the start of the second half, but the next fifteen minutes I think we would all like to forget. We seemed to fall apart, yes we had some shots on target but Newton Fire scored four to make it 7-2.

But the girls heads stayed up and showed great spirit with Chloe Hine Jeffreys running onto a good through ball from Phoebe to pull it back to 7-3. Only for Newton Fire to score again with the final score being 8-3.

Well done to both teams on an entertaining match.
