Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U14's 2012/13

Type: DGFL = Devon Girls Football League

We welcomed two new players from Wellington today Ashleigh Hollick and Ashleigh Grabham.The match kicked off at 10:35. We started brightly and after five minutes Chloe H.J broke free and scores our first 1-0.West Exe didn't know what had hit them as we pushed forward with shot from Phoebe,Chloe W and Ashleigh G all close to scoring.

Slowly West Exe got into the game and at 10:50 Courtney is forced into making a good save.Twenty minutes into the game and West Exe broke free and equalised 1-1.

For the next ten minutes the ball was fought hard for by both teams. Then West Exe have a long shot which goes in off the bar 1-2.

But Twyford fought back and after some good midfield play Ashleigh G scores the equaliser 2-2. This was quickly followed up by a through ball which Ashleigh G runs onto and scores 3-2 to Twyford and the whistle blows for Half Time.A very entertaining first half.

Second half kicks off at 11:15 with Twyford starting where they left off in the first half winning a corner within a minute. Lydia has a shot which was saved, the balls back in play West Exe break and Courtney makes another good save.

The game was end to end with Ashleigh G and H playing some good football just what we need.

11:27 Ashleigh G and Lydia link well with Lydia's shot going just wide for a goal kick. Then it is back to defending and Courtney makes yet another good save. A couple of minutes later West Exe send a through ball at goal which there forward was lucky to latch onto making it 3-3.

11:36 Twyford continued to attack and Kim tries to lob the West Exe goalie Ashleigh G and Chloe H.J link and the shot from Chloe goes wide.

West Exe break again and score 3-4 the last six minutes of play look like being exciting.

Twyford stayed focused and push forward looking for the equaliser. The minutes are ticking away then the ball is at Ashleigh G's feet will she get her hat trick. Yes with one minute to go 4-4.

The last kick off of the match and the last few seconds and we push forward one last time. There is a goal mouth scramble and as West Exe get the ball clear the full time whistle is blown. 4-4 draw and a very enjoyable game of football.

The defence of Kim Hannah Nicole Chloe.G and Ashleigh H played well throughout with the midfield and forwards fighting for everything and we scored goals. Ashleigh G and H fitted in as if they had played in the team all season. Well done girls looking forward to next week and Plainmoor lets see what lies ahead.
