Match Report - Twyford Spartans - G U14's 2012/13

The match kicked off at 11:45 and it was even stevens for the first ten minutes until Plainmoor got to a loose ball outside the Twyford box first and the long shot found the back of the net. 1-0 . The girls played their game and continued to fight for every ball. Courtney in goal making some fine saves. But as we pushed forward towards their goal we seemed to loose the ball more than we should which allowed Plainmoor to score a second after twenty minutes play.Plainmoor began to dominate the game and scored a couple of quick goals. 4-0 . It looked like that was going to be the score at half time but suddenly they had scored two more in the 35th and 36th minutes to go in 6-0 which was not a true indication of the fight and determination the girls showed as the heavens opened.

The second half started and the girls showed great spirit and dispite letting in a further two goals in the first fifteen minutes of the half, took the game to them looking for that elusive goal. For fifteen minutes they held there own forcing the Plainmoor goalkeeper to make several saves.

But with a few minutes remaining Plainmoor break free and score a ninth goal (offside? ) and the full time whistle is blown.

Our girls can leave here with heads held high , a better achievement each time they come away from the Plainmoor astro turf.
