Monaco had problems early on coping with the passing of the away side but Alex Wright, Harry Venner, Matt Watts and Jack Zilch protected Tom Haines in goal and restricted the amount of work he had to do. Nick Merriam had had a goal disallowed for offside and then won a free kick outside the box. Daniel Verrier connected sweetly and sent the ball in off the post to take Monaco into a half time lead.
Culm started quickest in the second half and were immediately on level terms when Oaten scored his first. Aaron Farebrother and Tom Roberts passed the ball well at times and Battled hard against Ben Tucker, Dan Hayfield and McCaulay Broome. Culm again took the lead with Oaten grabbing his second of the match.
Monaco seemed to step up a gear and pressed the visitors back into their half. Merriam had a shot cleared off the line and Bradley Kelly went close before the equaliser came. Danny Crook smashed a shot which bounced down off the cross bar and Merriam was first to react to turn it over the line.
Just as the game looked to be heading for a draw Oaten found space in the box to win it for Culm with a low shot into the corner.
