Twyford Monaco moved into second place in the league with a 5 - 0 home win against Brixington. The lack matches that the team has played in recent months was evident as they struggled to find any rhythm in the first half. Tom Haines in goal had little to do throughout the match as he was well protected by Alex Wright, Harry Venner and Connor Tucker. The fullbacks Jack Zilch and Toby Hogan joined in with the attacking on the flanks but Brixington were confident and battled hard which stopped Monaco getting into their stride. The first decent move of the match saw Anthony Ansell scoring from a Matt Watts cross and soon after Nick Merriam was tripped in the box and Aaron Farebrother slotted in the penalty. Tom Roberts was the pick of the Monaco team with his energy and passing and he got his reward with a well taken third. In the second half Monaco were far more comfortable as their opponents tired and were able to use Harry Denson and Dan Verrier's pace as an outlet which created some good chances. Nick Merriam won his second penalty of the match and got up to convert it himself before Watts scored the goal of the game with a volley from a cross from the right.
