Monaco were superb in this game against one of their main rivals for promotion and won at a canter after amazingly going a goal down after ten seconds! Each member of the team played their part exceptionally well and it was credit to Westexe who kept battling even though they could not break down the Monaco defence. Alex Wright and Jack Zilch were in complete control at the back and snuffed out any danger quickly and Toby Hogan kept up his impressive performances at right back. Positionally he was excellent and won and converted a penalty for his efforts. Dan Verrier and Aaron Farebrother found killer passes every time they touched the ball and Nick Merriam and Bradley Kelly thought that Christmas had come early with the service they were getting. Merriam added another seven goals to his tally with some wonderful finishing and Kelly got a hat trick which is excellent as he is playing up a year. Another player playing up a year is Danny Crook who could have been a contender for man of the match. His partnership with Farebrother in the centre of mid-field had energy and bags of quality as he pitched in with two goals of his own, a header and an overhead kick. The other goal came from Anthony Ansell who played most of the second half in a roaming role in mid-field!
