Twyford Lyon kept up the pressure at the top of their league with a 6-2 home win against Bridgwater Wolves. In the end it was a comfortable afternoon for the home team which started with them going a goal down after just 10 seconds after a misunderstanding at the back. Lyon pressed from then on and limited the visitors to the occasional breakaway which Matt Gillett, Tom Lazarus and Charlie Payne dealt with well. The equaliser came when Daniel Hayfield cleverly found Nick Merriam who slotted the ball in and soon after Anthony Ansell made it two. Merriam pounced for his second after the keeper fumbled Hayfield's cross to make it 3-1 at the break. The visitors capitalised on a defensive error to pull another goal back but Lyon quickly scored again when Toby Hogan smashed the ball home. Hayfield weaved his way through the box to score the fifth and then fed Ansell who crossed for Merriam to hook the ball in for his hat trick.
