Twyford Under 13 girls took on Exmouth Amateurs in a well fought game. It was a good display for girls football with both teams passing well and defending well.
Twyford closed Exmouth down quickly and made it hard for them to play. With the score 0-0 at half time, the girls started the second half brightly and were unlucky not to go ahead after some good goalkeeping from the opposition. As the second half went on the Twyford girls lost concentration and conceded an easy goal. The girls continued to battle and in the final 10 minutes whilst we were attacking the Exmouth girls caught Twyford out on the break and despite some excellent saves from goalkeeper Amy Sanders the final score was 3-0 to Exmouth. Player of the match for Twyford was Fern Bernhardt with Alice Butler, Beth Leaney, and Katie Adcock also have good games.
