On Sunday Twyford Under 13 girls travelled to play second in the league Exmouth Amateurs. The girls knew this was going to be a tough test for them but this did not phase them as they passed the ball well and closed down the opposition and made it difficult for Exmouth to score. At half time the score was 0-0 and Twyford went on and produced good football and with five minutes to go the girls were looking at a goalless draw. Then the blow came when Exmouth scored with minutes to go. Twyford did not give up and from the kick off produced strong attacking play and Robyn Freed, player of the match, latched on to a Millie McLear through ball to fire home a well deserved equaliser. Also playing well were Alice Butler, Laura Huxtable, Katie Adcock, Beth Leaney, Chloe Moore and goalie Amy Sanders. The girls have earned themselves five points in the last 10 days and are a credit to the club. Twyford girls have been selected to play at Leicester City Football Club in a tournament at the end of the month and everyone at Twyford wishes them ever success.
