From the kick off the first game of 2009 was full of attacking football from both sides. Twyford’s defensive unit of Isaac Pedrick and Toby Plaice functioned perfectly denying any attempts on the Twyford goal. Aaron Long put in another very strong performance in goal in a game that proved to be a very close contest, which both teams fought hard to win.
A superb midfield display from Max Rendall linking well with Louis Bolduc slotted some nice passes through to lone striker Konnor Tebby who battled through defenders but just could not capitalise upon.
A well deserved draw with noticeable improvement in team play helped by two debuts from Keane Moore and Ben Wright. The match was a fantastic start to the year which looks encouraging for the remainder of the season.
