Twyford Lyon's good form took a knock in a very strange match in Minehead. The end score was 8 - 3 to the home team but Lyon would have come away with a hatfull of goals had it not been for the performance of the season from the Minehead goalkeeper. Lyon attacked from the start and should have been four goals ahead by the time Minehead scored in their first attack due to a mix up in the Lyon defence. Even though Lyon equalised immediately through Nick Merriam, they squandered chance after chance. Minehead, though, scored from all of their efforts to go in 5 -1 at half time. Lyon rallied and started the second half strongly but conceded a soft penalty which was thumped home. Again they fought back and found time and time again that the Minehead keeper was on top form. Merriam managed to score again but as hard as Tom Haines, Toby Hogan, Warren Clarke and Evan Bolduc worked they could not stop the powerful shooting of the Minehead forwards.
