Match Report - Twyford Spartans - B U16's 2008/9

Twyford Under 16s travelled to Westonzoyland and in the breezy conditions got off to a rocky start by going 1-0 down as Westonzoyland out muscled the Twyford midfield and defence. However Twyford got them back in it when Chris Tolly got behind the Weston defence to pull a goal back to make the score level. From this goal Twyford lifted their spirits and passion to play to go 2-1 up through James Douglas but Weston found themselves back in it with a bit of sloppy defending but again Twyford got themselves in front through Sam Butler only to be pegged back again to make the score 3-3 at half time. The game continued the same after half time with Twyford getting on the front foot and with their pressure they got what they deserved through a 20 yard strike by Sam Butler. From this goal Weston seemed to drop the heads and allow Twyford to play some good football but when Sam Butler headed into his own net from a long Weston throw they seemed to tick and we found ourselves in for a close last 5 minutes but when Twyford were awarded a stone wall penalty which was coolly converted by the Twyford Captain Sam Butler to rap up his hat trick gave Twyford what they had worked so hard for which was the win and the 3 points. Playing well was man of the match Sam Butler, Owen Newsome, James Douglas, Chris Tolly, Cameron Xavier and Dan Copp.
