Match Report - Twyford Spartans - B U16's 2008/9

Twyford Spartans Under 16s travelled to Bridgwater where they faced a Bridgwater side wanting revenge from an earlier game in the season, however Twyford started very well on a bobbly pitch creating numerous opportunities but not being able to finish. This carried on throughout the whole first half after with a few attempts by Bridgwater but still Twyford attacking but with no finish until half way through when Chris Tolly struck a half volley from the edge of the area to put Twyford one nil up. The game died after the goal with both teams trying to create with little football played at times. However after the break the game livened up with both teams creating chances but with no glory, again with the game dying and both teams battling for balls but with one lump up field by Dean Matthews it forced a Bridgwater defender to head over the on rushing keeper making the score 2-0. The score was 2-1 within a minute of the restart with Twyford sleeping and Bridgwater looking to get back in the game which they found they were. The game soon turned back into a battle but with Bridgewater on the front foot creating some half chances with some direct football. As this continued spaces opened for Twyford and they scored another through Brendan Sellens making the score 3-1. Playing well was man of the match Sam Butler, Dean Matthews, Michael Sandiford, Dan Copp, Ryan Harte, James Douglas, Cameron Xavier and Lee Dixon.
