Blackpool – Easter

Trip Report

Twyford Spartans Under 11s and 12s travelled to Blackpool for 8 days at Easter. First up was Exeter City 2-2 draw at Morecambe followed by a great experience of watching England’s 4-0 win over Northern Ireland at Old Trafford. On the Easter Sunday they toured Old Trafford before watching the Liverpool Legends versus the TV Celebrities, 6-2 to the Legends.

On Monday they toured Anfield before seeing Blackpool v Hartlepool. Tuesday and Wednesday saw their own football with a loss, a draw, and a win they scraped through before emerging in the final where they lost to a strong Blackburn team. Wednesday evening was England U19s against Moldova U19s, 1-0 to England. Thursday night’s presentation was by Aaron Makoena of Blackburn Rovers. On the Friday a tour of Stoke City Britannia Stadium before the journey home. If Twyford older boys tour to Austria and Croatia is half as good it will be grand.
