Brean Sands 2016

Trip Report

Twyford travelled to Pontins Brean Sands with a under 15’s teams with a lot of younger players. We were very disappointed to find the organisers had combined 15’s with 16’s meaning by FA rules we were not allowed to play. On the Saturday morning we played our first three games against older, very physical teams. We picked up several injuries which was the concern we past to the organisers before playing. After discussions with the girls we decided not to play the second day fixtures. The organisers gave us free tickets to Brean Leisure park to make up for it and on a very sunny day the girls throughly enjoyed this. The chalets were fine, the half board food option was good value and the entertainment/on site amusements were enjoyed by all. If you take the football out it was a good trip. The organisers needed to be more up front with lack of teams. Kevin Kilbane was the guest at a poorly organised presentation event. SCI did not do a good job running this tournament although I think everybody enjoyed their long weekend away. The adults did well in the evening competition runned by the blue coats.
